Configuring CAPTCHA
To enhance security and prevent automated abuse, Visolix Video Downloader supports two CAPTCHA services: Google reCAPTCHA v2 and Cloudflare Turnstile. This section will guide you through setting up and configuring these CAPTCHA services.
Enabling CAPTCHA
Go to the WordPress dashboard.
Navigate to the "Visolix Video Downloader" plugin settings.
Open the "CAPTCHA" tab.
Check the box next to "Enable CAPTCHA".
Choose your preferred CAPTCHA service: Google reCAPTCHA v2 or Cloudflare Turnstile.
Click on the "Save Settings" button.
Setting up Google reCAPTCHA v2
Visolix Video Downloader supports Google reCAPTCHA v2 only. Here's how to set it up:
Visit the Google reCAPTCHA Admin Console.
Click on the "+" button to add a new site.
Choose "reCAPTCHA v2" and select "I'm not a robot" Checkbox.
Enter your domain name and complete the registration.
You will receive a Site Key and a Secret Key.
In the Visolix Video Downloader settings, enter these keys in the respective fields under the Google reCAPTCHA section.
Setting up Cloudflare Turnstile
Visolix Video Downloader supports Cloudflare Turnstile in Managed and Non-interactive modes. Here's a detailed guide to set it up:
Log in to your Cloudflare account.
Navigate to the Turnstile section in the dashboard.
Click on the "Add widget" button.
Choose the domain for which you want to set up Turnstile.
Select the Widget mode. You have two supported options:
Managed: Cloudflare decides if an interactive challenge is needed. Users may be prompted to check a box.
Non-interactive: A non-interactive challenge where users see a widget with a loading bar.
Give your widget a name (e.g., "Visolix Video Downloader").
Under "Domains," add the domain(s) where you'll be using the widget.
Review other settings if needed, then click "Create".
After creation, you'll see your Site Key and Secret Key.
Copy these keys and go to your WordPress dashboard.
In the Visolix Video Downloader settings, navigate to the CAPTCHA tab.
Paste the Site Key and Secret Key into their respective fields under the Cloudflare Turnstile section.
Save your settings.
Note: Ensure you choose either "Managed" or "Non-interactive" mode. The "Invisible" mode is not supported in our current implementation.
Cloudflare Turnstile Modes Explained
Managed: Cloudflare analyzes visitor information to determine if an interactive challenge is necessary. If required, users will be asked to check a box (no complex puzzles involved).
Non-interactive: A passive challenge that doesn't require user interaction. Users see a widget with a loading bar while the browser completes the challenge.
Testing Your CAPTCHA
After setting up your chosen CAPTCHA service:
Visit your video downloader page on the frontend of your website.
Attempt to download a video.
You should see the CAPTCHA challenge (either Google reCAPTCHA v2 checkbox or Cloudflare Turnstile widget).
Complete the CAPTCHA challenge.
Verify that you can successfully download the video after solving the CAPTCHA.
Troubleshooting
If you're experiencing issues with CAPTCHA:
Ensure you've selected the correct CAPTCHA service in the plugin settings.
Verify that your Site Key and Secret Key are entered correctly and match those provided by Google or Cloudflare.
For Google reCAPTCHA, make sure you've selected v2 with the "I'm not a robot" Checkbox option.
For Cloudflare Turnstile, ensure you've chosen either Managed or Non-interactive mode, not Invisible mode.
Check if your domain is correctly registered in the Google reCAPTCHA or Cloudflare Turnstile dashboard.
Clear your browser cache and try again.
Ensure that JavaScript is enabled in your browser, as both CAPTCHA services require it.
Check your website's console for any JavaScript errors that might be preventing the CAPTCHA from loading.
Best Practices
Regularly update your Visolix Video Downloader plugin to ensure you have the latest CAPTCHA integration features.
Monitor your CAPTCHA performance in the Google reCAPTCHA or Cloudflare Turnstile dashboards to detect any unusual activity.
Consider using Cloudflare Turnstile's Non-interactive mode for a smoother user experience, especially on high-traffic sites.
If you switch between CAPTCHA services, remember to update your settings and keys in the plugin configuration.
Remember, using CAPTCHA helps protect your site from abuse and ensures a better experience for legitimate users. If you continue to experience issues after trying these troubleshooting steps, please contact our support team for further assistance.
